A Special Thank You from Stephane Thibodeau, President of CVAC

I would like to take this opportunity to say THANK YOU to all CVAC families who volunteered their time this weekend towards the 2012 New Brunswick Short Course Open Championship.

This year’s meet was one of the most successful meets I"ve ever been part of for the past 8 years and I am really proud to be part of the team. We’ve taken the meet to another level and it is now considered the premier meet for New Brunswick.

Thank you to James McKervill (Meet Manger) and his organizing committee, Rodney McKiel (Assistant Meet Manger), Lesley Northrup (responsible for Sponsors), Rod Stackhouse (Ipad raffle and website), Christine Lavoie (Canteen and sandwiches), Shelley Thibodeau (food services), Judy Marsh (Shirts), and Lisa Greene (Treasure) for a job well done!

Also thank you to Marshal Button for being the MC and a special thank you to Thea Button for signing the national anthem so beautifully.

You make me proud to be a Viking.

Moncton receives a special visit on Monday January 30, 2012 from Chris Oveholt, CEO of the Canadian Olympic Committee.

City of Moncton was hailed as a world class host for sporting events and receives a $50,000 donation from Mr. Overholt as part of the Olympic Legacy Fund.

As a result of the donation, Codiac Vikings Aquatic Club and Club de Nation bleu et or partnered with the Université de Moncton to obtain $27,000 of the $50,000 towards a new electronic timing system for the CEPS pool. This has been a great partnership between two clubs from greater Moncton.

Both CNBO and CVAC would like to thank the Canadian Olympic Committee, CEO Chris Overholt, City of Moncton, Mayor George LeBlanc, Université de Moncton, Recteur Yvon Fontaine for supporting competitive swimming in Moncton.
